More or less we have all seen it .A simple search in Google will bring back many similar sites that promise to teach new users
how to make loads of money on the internet by typing in simple data from home. The sales pitch looks
great, and it's backed up by testimonials and a bunch of graphs showing how much money the owner is
making from the system.“How many ads can you type a day?” And when you
put in a number, it calculates the dollar amount that you can expect to earn.“Companies need you to work for them! Make money typing data for them!Surprisingly, they all looked very similar. Furthermore, I noticed that there were a lot of
people promoting them as good ways to make money on the internet. It's easy to see why anyone looking to work from home would be attracted to these sites. They
make very lofty promises and promise to allow one to do all the work from home.It looks great.
...but it isn't data entry! The biggest push of these sites is that you can make money entering simple data for companies,
but that just isn't the case. The reason that these sites promote the “data entry' angle is because it sounds
like a legitimate job. However, a data entry job is not what these sites really offer.
Well they alsow shows you some pictures of adverts and says abuve it your work will be like this. However, it really isn't data at all. These pictures are shots of ads. If you'll notice, all
of the shots that these sites have of the “data” that you'll enter all have some sort of a product that they
are promoting. That is because the strategy does not involve “data entry” - instead, it includes writing
ads.
Where are these ads run? Actually, you may be surprised. It may be something you've never
noticed before.... these ads run on search engines.
Open your browser and open Google.com. Run a search for something broad. For example, let's do “data entry.
t the top, there are some links in beige. Below them are more links in white, and to the right,
there are smaller ads that are tiled horizontally.
The ads below the beige are sites that appear naturally. These are the websites that Google finds
and picks as the most relevant for what term is entered. The other links – those at the top in the beige and those to the right – are sites that are paying to
be there. Yes, websites can pay to have their ads at the top of search engines for certain terms. For
example, a site that sold “sewing machines” may want to appear at the top of Google when someone
types in “buy sewing machines.” In order to do this, they can open an account with Google and create
an ad. The ads look like this:
Yes, these ads are the exact same ads that the “data entry” sites explain that you'll be filling out.
Therefore, what you're filling out isn't really data for a company. Instead, these “data entry” sites
suggest that you'll be filling out ads that will appear at the top of the search engines.
So, uh, who pays for these ads?
You do. Yeah, weird, isn't it? You sign up for a “data entry” program thinking that you're going
to get paid, and you learn how to run ads on the search engines that you have to pay for? Doesn't really
make much sense, does it?
More accurately, you pay for these ads each time that somebody clicks on them. Therefore, if
someone searches for “data entry” and clicks on one of the paid ads, the advertiser pays a certain
amount of money. How much? Well, it depends on the ad. Just like on eBay, advertisers bid against
each other to have their advertising appear. Therefore, if two advertisers bid on the same term, the one
who bids more will get the top spot, while the other advertiser slips to second.
Now, you're probably thinking, “You pay to sign up with a data entry program, then you have to
run ads on the search engines, and you have to pay to run them. How does this benefit me?”
Exactly. That's what's so misleading about the “data entry” sites. There's no real data entry
involved. It's typing ads that you have to pay for. That's why you should avoid them.
HOWEVER... there actually is a very cool way that you can make money writing these ads. Most of the ads that you see when you perform a search in Google are not placed there by
parent companies. In other words, an ad placed for “Nike.com” usually isn't placed there by Nike.com.
Instead, most of them are placed there by a Nike.com affiliate. An affiliate is someone who sells
products for a parent company and receives a commission for whatever is sold.
Therefore, in most cases, ads are placed by affiliates hoping to make a sale for whatever the
parent company is selling. Let's take an example:
I once ran an ad for a company that paid me $23 dollars a sale. Therefore, if anyone purchased
what I was promoting, I received a $23 commission. I ran an ad on Google, and I paid seventeen cents
when someone clicked on the ad. If that person purchased, I made a profit.
$23 commission - $0.17 per click = $22.83 profit per saleNow, obviously each person is not going to purchase whatever is being sold. Perhaps one in ten
visitors purchase what is being sold. Maybe only one in fifty purchase. In either case, as long as the
commission outweighs the cost of the ads, you, the advertiser, can profit.
I once had a discussion with someone who was promoting a World of Warcraft Guide. He
created an ad for the search engines and earned commissions for whatever he sold. He ended up
making about $200 a week on a consistent basis from this ad. However, that was only ONE ad! If you
are able to multiply that on a grand scale, the amount of money that can be made is very exciting.
● Data entry sites promise to allow you to work from home by typing data for companies.
However, you are not typing data at all, but typing ads for other companies.
● These ads run on search engines and can be seen when you perform a search in Google.
● You have to pay for the ads.
● The amount that the ads cost depends on how many advertisers are attempting to run their ads
on a certain subject.
● Most ads are not run by parent companies, but by affiliates hoping to make a sale.
● If an affiliate is able to generate sales from their ads, they can make a profit. The amount of the
commission minus the cost of the clicks is the profit.
● After finding a profitable ad, the process can be repeated over and over.
You'll notice that, near the bottom left, there is a link that says, “Affiliate Program.” Here, an
individual can sign up to become an affiliate of Verizon Wireless and sell their products to earn
commissions.
This process can be repeated with hundreds of different companies. As stated before, once you
are making money with one company, you can duplicate the process with many other companies as
well.
However, the question remains: “How do you actually generate the sale?
When you sign up with a company as an affiliate, you will have a specific affiliate ID. Using
this ID, each company will provide you with a unique URL that has your affiliate ID in it. For example,
a Nike affiliate may have the following affiliate link: nike.com/?e=johndoeaffiliate. Obviously, the link
will change based on the company, but each affiliate link contains your unique affiliate ID. When a
visitor clicks on your unique affiliate, any sales that are made can be tracked and credited to your
account.
How do you apply this? When you create an ad with the search engines, simply provide your
affiliate link as the URL that the link takes the visitor to, and you have a wave of traffic going to your
affiliate link. If anyone purchases whatever is for sale, you receive credit it for and earn the
commission.
Imagine the following scenario...
1. You set up your affiliate link.
2. You set up your search engine ads.
3. You earn a profit from the affiliate commissions.
4. You do no more work, but the money keeps coming in.
In this way, you can create an autopilot BUSINESS very quickly and not have to do any work
after everything is set up. You can spend your time setting up new ad campaigns and making more
money.
This all sounds great, except for one thing... how the heck do you find all these companies that
have affiliate programs? It all sounds good in theory, finding the companies that actually pay affiliates
to market their products can be exhausting.
Therefore, affiliate networks make this process easy. They link merchants with affiliate to make
the process very easy. The most popular of these programs is called Clickbank, and it can be found at
Clickbank.com. Clickbank is the most popular affiliate network because they pay HUGE commissions.
After signing up with Clickbank, you have complete access to market thousands and thousands of
products in all kinds of niches.
Clickbank is the biggest affiliate network around, and it's totally free. When you drive traffic to
your affiliate links and make a sale, they show up in real time. Below is a screen shot of just one of my
Clickbank accounts:
I show you this not to boast, not to sell you anything, and not to convince you of anything, but
simply to show that I personally use Clickbank. In fact, just about every affiliate marketer uses. The so-called “data entry” sites even reference Clickbank. You may have read something like
this on the data entry sites:
“When will I get paid? You will be paid every two weeks, on the third and the eighteenth of the
month. You will be paid by check for the data entry that you perform.”
This little bit is seen on almost every single “data entry” site out there. They include it so that
you believe that you are receiving a data entry job. In reality, this is really the payment policy of
Clickbank. When you have made sales from Clickbank, they will pay you by check twice a month.
The key to success with these affiliate networks is to get traffic to your affiliate links. Running
ads on Google is one of many ways to do so, and many have found it to be an excellent way to get
make a lot of fast affiliate cash.
Let's recap:
● Data entry sites teach users how to drive people to their affiliate links (usually Clickbank links)
using search engine advertising.
● Search engine ads cost money, but affiliate sales often allow for large profit margins.
● Clickbank is the largest affiliate network, making it easy to generate affiliate links and make
sales..
● Once ad campaigns are set up, there is no further work required except to create more.
This strategy has made a lot of people a lot of money, but there is some risk involved.
Obviously, if you don't make any sales, you can lose a lot of money from advertising. However, if you
learn the proper ways to do this, enormous profits can be generated. Hundreds of dollars a day can be
created using these powerful methods when implemented correctly. On the other hand, if you don't
learn how to do it correctly, you can lose your shirt.
